The Change Management Process

Change Management is at the core of Human Resources Management

What is change management? How do project management and change management intersect? What do you do when you realize that, while you like the work you’re doing, you don’t like what management is doing? Well, you have three options:

  1. You can ignore it.
  2. You can quit your job.
  3. Or you can learn about the change management process and how to become a change agent within your organization.

Management is too important to be left to the managers!

At this point, you must have realized that you can’t change your organizational culture. What you can change is your own behavior and the influence you have over others.

This kind of change management and human resources management is exactly what Management 3.0 is all about. Change Management 3.0 is a new “super model” which views organizations as complex adaptive systems and social networks. The Change Management 3.0 supermodel brings together various existing models – like PDCA, ADKAR, Adoption Curve and The 5 I’s. It lists a few dozen hard questions that can help people in their attempts to change the behaviors of other people in an organization and beyond. No matter whether you are a human resources manager, scrum master, product owner, software developer or writer, you will leave empowered to change the world around you.

What is Management 3.0?

“It’s no secret that the world is in need of change. As we look around our little planet, we see that the human race has managed to create a set of organizations that increasingly dispirit the people who are doing the work and frustrate the people for whom the work is being done. Young people entering the workplace increasingly see a world that is hollow and empty of real meaning.”

That’s the surprisingly pessimistic way the forward of How to Change the World: Change Management 3.0 kicks off an otherwise motivational booklet. But, if you think about it, it’s not wrong. There’s a lot of room for improvement, at least for the human inhabitants of Earth. So that begs the question:

How can I be successful at influencing others to do what I want? How do I change the complex social influence system?

At a Management 3.0 Workshops, you will learn, among other things, change management processes and how to affect and influence change and transformation in your organization. And you won’t just learn it from the awesome Management 3.0 Facilitators, you will learn it from your peers as you share stories and experiences. Each workshop is filled with like-minded people who are ready to influence a positive change in their teams and their organizational culture.

At a Management 3.0 Workshop, you’ll learn how to answer:

  • What is my change management goal?
  • Where is it going well?
  • What are the crucial steps?
  • When and where do I start?
  • How do I get feedback?
  • How do I measure results?
  • How do I accelerate those results? (Or am I prepared to do this again and again?)
  • How will I communicate?
  • How will I set an example?
  • How can I address my team’s intrinsic motivation? (Champfrogs will help you with that!)
  • How committed am I?
  • Are there people to help me?
  • …and so many more!

Management 3.0 workshops take you from Change to Transformation

We talk a lot about adaptation and the change management process, but we really need to be ready to take it to the next step of transformation.

An adaptive organization only responds to changes while a transformational organization thrives on changes.
