Short Bio

Postdoctoral stay at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA). Ph.D. in Software Engineering (Cum Laude qualification). M.Sc. in Computer Science (graduated with honors and with first class standing), and M.Sc. in Enterprise Application Integration (awarded by PriceWaterhouseCoopers).

Agile Coach, expert in Agile management and Agile teams, my first agile project was in 2001. So far, I have helped more than 80 companies.

Currently, I am helping companies to make better software (in time, with productivity, with quality and happiness). I actively collaborate with the company and community 233 Grados de TI and, in addition, I am a full professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University.

I have been programmer, project manager, consultant, CIO, designer, I have been through almost every dedication to software development.

I have published 6 books on Agile and more than 130 articles on Information Technology.

Professional experience:

  • Currently I collaborate with 233 Agile Academy and 233 Grados de TI, which is a company and also a reference community in Agile, Lean, Software Quality, Testing, Software Engineering, Project Management, Equipment Management, etc.
  • Throughout my professional career I have worked, or participated in projects, for more than 80 companies, including some such as: GMV – Control de Satélites, FERROVIAL, WOLTERS KLUWER, REPSOL, INDITEX, TELEFÓNICA MÓVILES, BANCO SANTANDER, INDRA, GMV, RENFE, DIRECCIÓN GENERAL DE TRÁFICO (DGT), MINISTERIO DE ADMINISTRACIONES PÚBLICAS (MAP), SISTEMAS TÉCNICOS DE LOTERÍAS (STL), AENOR, SIEMENS, INFORMÁTICA DE LA COMUNIDAD DE MADRID (ICM), EL MUNDO, BBVA, OCASO, etc.
  • I have been developer, consultant at ALTRAN, project manager in the IT sector and CTO in ERP development companies. I was Co-founder and CEO of the company Kybele Consulting S.L. (a spin off company of a research group of the Rey Juan Carlos University).
  • Regarding international experience, I have worked in Spain, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and the USA.

Academic experience:

  • Full Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University since 2004.
  • Professor of the Master of Information Systems at the Rey Juan Carlos University.
  • I was a professor at the Castilla - La Mancha University (2005)
  • I have taught more than 60 courses for companies and organizations.

Research experience

  • More than 130 publications in magazines and conferences in the sector.
  • Guest researcher at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA)
  • Participation in more than 20 R&D projects between national and international.
