I saw a book about Management 4.0, and I heard about Industry 4.0, what about that?
We are aware of those books and developments. Looking back, it was maybe not a smart idea to use Management 3.0 as a brand name. But it is as it is. We talked about renaming the brand but that will be a huge loss of marketing effort. There are many books, blog posts, etc. that refer to Management 3.0. That would all be lost when we would rename the brand. Additionally, we would need to build up our social media presence from the ground.

It is not about increasing the number. 3.0 is really the contradiction of 1.0 and 2.0 is in the middle. It is just to make the difference clear.
What is Management 3.0?
Management 3.0 is a series of leadership and team collaboration workshops, a book, and an international movement. It is the belief that management is too important to be left to the managers, and that everyone together can improve work-life, employee empowerment, and results. It is a belief that more can be learned in half an hour of a game than a month of meetings. Here you can learn all about Management 3.0 and its methods.
Will Management 3.0 make me a better leader?
No. That’s all on you. Don’t think you can walk out of a course or read one of our books and you will suddenly know it all. YOU have to do it. Everything we do with Management 3.0 is to give you employe engagement exercises and games that you can try with your team right away. With everything you ask yourself, “What can I do tomorrow?” We are very much about the practical – so your success as a leader comes from you putting our best practices into practice.
Who is Martie and why is Martie called Martie?
Martie is the friendly Management 3.0 Monster. Martie is representing the six views of Management 3.0.

The name was picked because it starts with the letter M, has six letters, and is gender-neutral. That’s all.
Can I call you? I have a question about something.
No, sorry. We are fully remoted team, we work from anywhere, anytime. We don’t have an office, and also no phone. You can always reach us via our contact page. We will reply probably within one working day!

Questions on Management 3.0 Workshops

Can you get Scrum Alliance SEU’s by attending a workshop from Management 3.0?
From the Scrum Alliance Website: “A Scrum Education Unit® (SEU®) is a credit earned by completing an educational training or learning opportunity that meets a defined set of learning objectives. Here you’ll find more information about this credit and learn about how to earn and use them” [https://www.scrumalliance.org/get-certified/scrum-education-units]

As far as we know, Management 3.0 workshops count for their SEU’s. Check out their website for their details, we are not involved in this system.
What happens if a workshop is cancelled?
For Management 3.0 Inhouse Programs, our terms are agreed with each client depending on the type of solution being delivered. Speak to your Management 3.0 team representative to find out more.

For Management 3.0 open public workshops, each Management 3.0 facilitator will have their owns terms, depending on local legislation, customs and policies. Check with your facilitator what will happen if a workshop is cancelled.
Is there a follow-up workshops for the Foundation Workshop?
Yes! We have four follow-up workshops specifically designed to deepen your learnings after the two-day Foundation Workshop. Please visit this page to learn more about “Agile Change Leadership Workshop”, “Agile Co-Creation Leadership Workshop”, “Agile Team Leadership Workshop” and “Agile People Leadership Workshop”.
How are the workshops chosen that are promoted in our public newsletter?
We like to keep our subscribers updated about all the great workshops that are taking place near them. That’s why we promote upcoming workshops in the country/ timezone that the subscriber lives in. Workshops that are promoted fulfill the following parameters:

– They are one of our standard (Foundation, Agile Leadership Workshops, AHR) or Other-typed workshops – free or sold out, conference talks etc. are not shown, but you will always find them on our event page,
– they take place more than 7 days after the newsletter is send in order to give people who are interested in them enough time to register,
– max. 10 events per country are shown, if there are more than 10 events coming up only the next ones are shown,
– the event needs to be scheduled by the facilitator a couple of days before the newsletter is created.

Of course we have many more workshops on our website. Many of them are remote, so you can choose facilitators from around the world and attend the workshop in many different languages.
Do you have e-learning/online courses?
We have discontinued the academy.management30.com, and you can no longer purchase new courses. If you have already bought a course, click here and access the course.
How do I sign up for a Management 3.0 Workshop?
For an Inhouse program aimed at your organization or a specific group of people, Visit our inhouse program page and book a meeting with a Management 3.0 Representative.

For an open public workshop, Visit our event schedule page to find links to sign up directly to events. Or you can contact one of our facilitators directly.
Can I have a special Management 3.0 Workshop at my office? Do you offer private on-site trainings?
Absolutely! Just contact us via info@management30.com and describe what you are looking for (e.g. time frame, language, location, what kind of training, number of participants) and we will get in touch or you can book a meeting here to discuss.
When will Management 3.0 come to my country?
The spirit of Management 3.0 is everywhere, any time someone is trying to influence positive change in their organization, and the in-person Management 3.0 workshops are already in more than 130 countries. Here is the list of upcoming workshops run by our more than 470+ fabulous facilitators. If you don’t see one where or when you want it, simply fill in the request form and we will have a local facilitator contact you or you can pick a facilitator to contact directly.

If you want to become a facilitator but can’t attend a workshop in your area, you can also go for a Certificate of Practice which will let you also access a facilitators’ license, allowing you to be the first to bring Management 3.0 to your area.
How much do these workshops cost?
For inhouse workshops, our approach is bespoke depending on your needs and what is achievable in terms of time and cost. Our price therefore varies depending on the solution so book a meeting or email us and we can help.

For open public workshops, each Management 3.0 facilitator runs things their own way. They are allowed to decide on their own pricing, discounts, group discounts, etc. The experiences of a facilitator and location can also influence the price of a workshop.
Do Management 3.0 workshops qualify for PMI PDUs or PMI-ACP credits?
In a nutshell, yes. All workshop hours qualify for both the Project Management Institute’s traditional project development units, usually called PMI PDUs, and for the PMI agile certified practitioner credits, usually called PMI-ACP credits. You should contact PMI directly for specific certification.

The facilitator or organizer of the workshop would need to prove how many hours of the Management 3.0 workshop are related to project management topics and skills for project managers. In our view, this is 16 hours of relevant content (i.e. 16 PDUs) for the 2-Day Foundation Workshop.

After the workshop, participants will go to the PMI website to claim PDUs themselves. After they log into the pmi.org website they should enter the following information:
• Category for PDU Registration: Course or Training
• Provider: << Indicate the name of the company that provided the training >>*
• Course: Management 3.0 Two-Day Workshop
• Description: Management 3.0 Two-Day Workshop
• Date Started: << Indicate Start Date of the event >>
• Date Completed: << Indicate End Date of the event >>
• PDU values: << Indicate the distribution of PDUs offered according to the Talent Triangle sections >>**

*Management 3.0 is not a PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). You as a facilitator/organizer can be a PMI Registered Education Provider (REP) or a third-party provider and you have to inform the participants which provider should they choose or enter during the process.

**See the Continuing Certification Requirements handbook (CCR) Handbook for more information about the Talent Triangle sections. In our view, the proposed split for a 2-day Foundation Workshop is:
Technical project management: 4
Leadership: 10
Strategic and business management: 2

Questions on the Agility in HR ICP-AHR Workshop by Management 3.0

How do I become an Agility in HR facilitator?
In order to become Facilitator for this workshop you have to be a Management 3.0 Facilitator first. Furthermore you have to have attended a Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop or an in-person Agility in HR (ICP-AHR) Workshop, you have to own the Management 3.0 Certificate of Practice and you have to be accredited by ICAgile. Are you a Management 3.0 Facilitator and want to offer the Agility in HR Workshops? Get in touch with us.
Is this workshop for me if I’ve already attended a Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop?
If you have already attended a two-day Foundation Workshop you probably won’t book the new Agility in HR (ICP-AHR) Workshop by Management 3.0 unless you want the ICAgile certification. However, the content of the two workshops doesn’t differ greatly, they are both based on the same principles and modules.

Can I become a Facilitator with the Certificate of Attendance gained from the Agility in HR (ICP-AHR) by Management 3.0 Workshop?
Short answer: Yes but it depends. The long answer is: Yes, but only if you attend the in-person Agility in HR Workshop. If you attend the online version, you are not allowed to become Management 3.0 Facilitator.

When you become a Management 3.0 Facilitator, you are allowed to facilitate your own Management 3.0 Workshops. We believe it is very important that as facilitator, you also learned and applied the practices in a not-online environment.
Do I need to attend a Foundation Workshop before I can attend this workshop?
It’s more a question of either-or, so you can choose. Both the Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop as well as the Agility in HR (ICP-AHR) Workshop by Management 3.0 lasts two days. Both are based on the same principles and include mainly the same content.

The difference is, the Agility in HR workshop is crafted with HR people in mind and you can get an additional certification: The ICAgile certification (ICP-AHR).
How is this different than a normal Foundation Workshop?
When we looked into the study objectives of Agility in HR we realized that we already covered most of the topics in the Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop. This is a good thing. We lacked a few topics like performance management, salaries, and other areas. So we added these topics to the slide decks. About 90% of the workshop comes from existing modules in the Foundation and View specific workshops.
What is the difference between this workshop, and Agility in HR workshops from other organizations?
ICAgile has defined study objectives for the Agility in HR workshop. Every workshop that is accredited by ICAgile covers the same topics. The differences are courseware, setup of the workshop, etc… However, every person who attends a workshop that is accredited by ICAgile will learn the same topics!
Who is the intended audience for this workshop?
Everyone working in people management, including HR, recruiting, HR business partners, people development, middle management and team leaders.
What makes the Management 3.0 Agility in HR workshop unique?
We’ve been conducting great workshops related to management and HR for eight years! Our courseware is already used in many other workshops and valued by professionals worldwide. The concepts of Management 3.0 are well tested and their value has been proven in many different organizations. We have 450 facilitators, they all can contribute to improving the workshop!
Company XYZ is also offering the Agility in HR workshop, how is this possible? Isn’t the Agility in HR workshop unique to Management 3.0?
Any organization can create a workshop related to Agility in HR. As long as the organization is a member of ICAgile, and their workshop is accredited by ICAgile. Therefore, all Agility in HR workshops that are accredited will cover the same topics. You will learn the same topics in any workshop. But every organization will have its own approach and benefits. The Agility in HR (ICP-AHR) by Management 3.0 is based on the popular Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop with 30.000+ certified attendees worldwide.

Questions on Certificate of Practice

Can I share my experiences of applying the practices with my family or friends?
Sorry no. Management 3.0 is about practices to help any worker manage the organization. It’s a way of looking at work systems. We believe family or friends are not a work system. Do I have to publish articles online?
Yes, your articles must be published online and publicly available. Articles on your Google Drive or Dropbox are not accepted.
Can I submit articles in Spanish?
No, unfortunately, you can’t. We only accept articles written in English. The reason is that we don’t speak all different languages like Spanish, German or Portuguese and it would be unfair to accept some languages and others not.

Questions on Conferences & Sponsorships

I want to organize my own conference and call it Great Leadership with Management 3.0, is this OK?
We are really happy that you want to organize a conference related to Management 3.0. Please reach out to us to see if and how we can help you! Maybe we can support your conference or share the conference via social media.

However, there is one exception. We ask you not to use the word Management 3.0 in your conference name and brand. The main reason is that we have our own conference brand called Forward Summit, online and virtual. We believe if you use Management 3.0 in your title, it will be confusing for people. Additionally, it will look like we are involved in organizing your conference. This may set some expectations over which we have no say or control. We hope you understand.
My meetup is called “Management 3.0 India”, or any other name with Management 3.0, is this OK?
So far so good. As long as you are organizing a community event, free, available for everyone, and less than 4 hours, you are allowed to use the word Management 3.0 in your event name/title. However, we ask you to make sure to not give the impression this is official or approved by any means. To ensure this, we recommend using “Management 3.0 Community <Country/Region/City>” .
Do you offer any kind of support for related events?
At Management 3.0 we want to support your events as much as possible. The best way we can do that is to know as much as we can about what your plans are. Where is the event? When is it and how do you want to execute it? If you’d like our support, please take a minute to fill out the form and we’ll do our best to make sure it’s a success.

Questions on Books

I wrote a book about Management 3.0, can you please also add it to your website?
First of all, congratulations! And thank you for spreading the word further.

Please tell us more about your book. We will review your book and decide case by case if we think this book will add value to our audience. Please understand that this is only possible in English and for already published books.
Is there a Russian (or any other language) translation of Management 3.0 or Managing for Happiness available?
Jurgen Appelo wrote the books Managing for Happiness and Management 3.0 and the publisher has the rights. The publisher (Pearson) has also the rights to translate the books to other languages. However, they don’t do this themselves. A local publisher can buy the rights to translate the book into a certain language. As a result, Jurgen and we are sometimes also surprised when a translation of Management 3.0 pop ups.

So far we know, the book Management 3.0 is available in English, Chinese Simplified, Indonesian, Korean, Polish and Russian. We don’t know where you can buy the books, you could google for the books in the translated language to find out or contact Pearson.

If you have questions about translations of the books, contact the publisher please. We are not involved in this, as also not Jurgen.
I’m writing a book about management, peopleware, our experiences with Management 3.0 practices, and so on. Can I use the word “Management 3.0” on the book cover?
Yes, you can use Management 3.0 word on the book cover. We would highly appreciate it when you would also add a link/reference to our website somewhere.
