As promised, here is our monthly update to explain the graphs and the story behind them, from our transparency dashboard.
The first graph we would like to explain is the number of facilitators.
We currently have 438 certified facilitators. A certified facilitator is someone that meets the entry criteria, signed a license agreement, and is therefore allowed to schedule and facilitate Management 3.0 workshops.
To become a facilitator, you need to attend the Foundation Workshop or the Fundamentals Online and Fundamentals Plus Workshop or apply for a Certificate of Practice. (Read all the details about it here) That is all! We don’t have strict criteria or require a long education phase to become a facilitator. Facilitators pay a yearly fee and get access to all the courseware, marketing materials, Slack, and much more.
We have facilitators on all continents, in fact there is almost always a facilitator close to you. When a new facilitator joins, we guide him or her to become as successful as possible. We have regular hang-out meetings, an active support community, and even a dedicated team member to help them. We believe in transparency, and therefore, we also publish all of the facilitators’ ratings on their profile page. The rating is also included in calculating the order on the facilitator overview page.
Our facilitators have many different backgrounds. They are agile coaches, HR specialists, team leaders, scrum masters, managers, trainers, team members, etc… Some of them are self-employed, and some work in companies.
However, they all have one thing in common, they believe in the purpose of Management 3.0: Redefining leadership to create happier people and successful organizations.
So, back to the graph…
A year ago, we were heading for nearly 500 certified Management 3.0 Facilitators! We were even preparing a nice gift for our facilitators as we planned to hit a huge milestone. However, COVID-19 rocked the world. I assume no further explanation is needed. COVID-19 also had a significant impact on our market. As a result, many facilitators had to cancel workshops and make tough decisions on where to spend their money. There was a drop in the number of facilitators, as many decided not to prolong their license—something we can understand. To help them, we introduced a 20% discount on the yearly license fee for all facilitators who decided to renew their license as long as COVID-19 is around.
But even with the discount in place, and the new online workshop, Fundamentals Online, the renewal rate kept dropping. Towards the end of last year, the number of facilitators stabilized. Still, some facilitators decided to pause their license agreement. However, new facilitators also started signing up again. So it looks like we hit bottom, but are stable for the moment.
